Astep ("we," "us," or "our") is a customer relationship management (CRM) tool designed for freelancers to track clients, schedule sessions, and manage packages. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. By using Astep, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
1. Personal Information You Provide:
- Account details: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
- Freelancer profile: Profession and related business details.
- Client management data: Information about your clients, including names, contact details (e.g., email, phone), session schedules, package details, and notes. You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from your clients before entering their data into the App.
2. Automatically Collected Information:
- Device and usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, App version, and usage statistics.
- Analytics data: we collect anonymized data on App performance and user interactions.
3. Information from Integrations:
- Calendar sync data: When you enable sync with Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, we receive and process event-related details to facilitate scheduling.
- Payment data: Subscription payment details processed securely via Stripe (we do not store full payment card information).
We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health or financial details beyond subscription needs).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain core App features, including client tracking, session scheduling, package management, and calendar sync.
- Process subscription payments via Stripe.
- Communicate with you (e.g., notifications, support).
- Analyze usage to improve the App.
- Comply with legal obligations under PDPO.
- Prevent fraud and enforce our terms.
4. Data Storage and Sharing
- We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
- We may share data only with necessary service providers:
- Firebase (for storage and analytics).
- Stripe (for subscription payment processing).
- These providers are bound by strict confidentiality and process data only to support the App.
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights

7. Data Retention
We retain data as long as your account is active or as needed for service provision/legal compliance. Inactive accounts may be deleted after 12 months. User may request deletion of their data by contacting us at recsailtd@gmail.com
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the App with the new effective date. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
